Summergreen Venue, Food & Lodging

Venue

Summergreen will be held at the Luccock Park Camp 15 miles south of Livingston, MT at the base of the Absaroka Mountain Range. Just a one hour drive from the Bozeman Airport, this camp features rustic yet comfortable cabins. See following section on Lodging.

Camp Restrictions:
Luccock Park Camp does not allow fire arms or other weapons, fireworks, alcohol or pets. No food is allowed in cabins or tents. Food should be stored in locked cars (yes, some bears have figured out how to open doors to unlocked vehicles!).

Spectacular hiking is abundant in the area, and Yellowstone Park is only an hour drive south. See RECREATION page for further recreation opportunities.

General Directions to Luccock Park Camp:
You’ll be traveling either South from Livingston or North from Yellowstone Park on US 89. Look for State 540 (East River Road) and take that to the Luccock Park Road near Pine Creek. The Luccock Park Road is paved but is rather steep and narrow with a few sharp turns. You don’t need 4-wheel drive or high clearance, but you will want to take it slow. Follow this road 2.4 miles and turn left into Luccock Park Camp.

Food

As part of your registration, meals will be provided Friday evening through Sunday lunch.  Accommodation can be made for vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free preferences.  Please indicate any special dietary preferences at time of registration.

We’ll have a variety of snacks around too — crackers, cheese, trail mix, chips, fruit, veg and such — but not much for sweets. Please consider bringing some snacks to share (the best way to ensure that your favorite snack is there!).

Lodging

Sleeping options include dormitory-style cabins with rooms containing 2-10 bunks each, along with camping spots for tents or campers, and 5 sites for RVs. All of the cabins are within a short walk to recently renovated bathhouses that have all the amenities, including hot water on demand, that you need to make your stay enjoyable. Bring your own linens, blankets, sleeping bags, etc. Note: Montana nights are generally kinda chilly even in the middle of July!

Please indicate on the registration if you would like an RV spot so we’ll know when they are full.  Note: All RV spots have electric hookups, but no water hookups. There is a hose you can use to refill your reservoir. RVs are rather challenging to get  up the last couple miles to the camp.  A 32 footer can apparently make it, but if two RVs meet on the road, someone will be backing up for a while!
