International Folk Dancing

International Folk Dancing (IFD) is an opportunity to experience the traditional music, rhythms and dances of other countries through a welcoming community of local dancers and teachers. We mix slow, fast, easy and more complex dances, so all experience levels can participate. No partner is needed, and all ages are welcome. Drop in for however long you would like, even just to watch for a while. With the many dance styles (set, couple, circle, line, and individual), we’re sure you’ll find something that pulls you out of your chair pretty soon!
We will meet in the community room at the Bozeman Library:
1. Saturday, July 25th – 3:00 to 4:30pm
2. Saturday, August 15th – 3:00 to 4:30pm
Fun for the entire family. No experience needed. All dances will be taught. English Country dances are basically walking in figures to beautiful music. If you have ever watched Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet dance in the movie “Pride and Prejudice,” you have seen English Country dancing.
Scottish Country dances have a little more footwork, and we will keep them simple. When time allows, we will include traditional folk dances from other countries. This is a free event.
