Who We Are
The Bozeman Folklore Society (BFS) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, preserving, enjoying, and teaching the music, dance, and arts of traditional cultures.
BFS is a subsidiary of the Country Dance and Song Society (CDSS), which is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit; all gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our Commitment to Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.
The Information We Collect and Why
The only time we will collect any personal information from you is if you fill out a membership form or register for one of our events (Wintergreen or Summergreen, for example). We collect your name, address, phone number, and email address, so that we can contact you in the future. If you become a member, we will add your email address to our mailing list.

We do not set any cookies when you visit our site.

How We Share Your Data
We use a third-party e-commerce service, Eqwid, to process our transactions, including memberships and event registrations. Eqwid gathers your information and passes it along to us.
We maintain our mailing list in MailChimp, so we enter your name and email address there. Otherwise, we don’t share any of your data with anyone.
Volunteers that man the ticket tables at dances and concerts have a list of the names and membership types for each of the current year’s members, to allow them to give admission discounts as appropriate.
How Long We Retain Your Data
We maintain data on all active members and registrants for our events during the current year. We maintain this information for three years after the event for which you registered, or three years after you have not renewed your membership.
Your Rights to Manage Your Data
If you have been a BFS member or have registered for an event, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Where We Send Your Data
We do not send your data to any third parties, outside adding your email address to our mailing list in MailChimp.
Contact Us/Update Your Personal Information
You can help CDSS maintain the accuracy of your personal information by notifying us when you change your address, title, phone number, or e-mail address. Please include both your old and new contact information so that we can make the appropriate corrections.
