It’s been a hard four years.
Hard for a lot of reasons. We couldn’t dance. We lost jobs…and we lost some people.
And everything got more expensive, just as it has for years. We haven’t had a major revision to our price structure since 2014, and something had to give to keep the event viable.
We are committed to keeping Wintergreen affordable, within reach of ordinary dancers, yet still an event worth attending. To balance these competing goals (and recognize that a lot of our community took a real beating over the past few years) we’re turning to you, the dancers, by adopting a pay-what-you-can scheme.
We have three basic registrations levels this year:
• The nominal rate, what we think we need to break even with 100 people attending ($145)
• A lower rate for those struggling to make ends meet
• A higher rate for those who can afford go a little beyond
We want to emphasize that these rates are confidential, and that we will make no distinction between those paying the different rates.
If the reduced rate is still more than works for you we have two more options:
• Volunteer to help work for the event. Contact us for details.
• A rate for just the Saturday workshops. A great option for those who can’t attend the whole event, or just want to get their feet wet and bring your dancing to the next level.
And if you can help even more consider participating in our silent auction, bidding on the naming rights to a song or dance, or just chip in some cash on the Registration page.
