contra dancing
Contra Season is September through May with live music and guest callers. Location is usually at the Eagles Lodge with its beautiful wooden dance floor. This year there are several dances especially for families (see below for more info).

International and Scottish Dancing

Helena dances are held just down the road, generally on the 3rd Saturday of the month. This fall, they will start dancing again on Sept. 21, with the WMDs playing and Bev Young calling.

WeatherwoodBozeman Contra Schedule

Contra Dances are generally the 1st Friday and 3rd Saturday of each month (except January when we break for Wintergreen). Our first dance of the 2013-2014 season will also be an exception, so that people can join in the festivities at Weather Rock Barn on the third Saturday.

Beginner's workshop 7:30-8:00 pm. // Dancing 8:00-11:00 pm.
Admission: $7 members, $9 non-members.

Come early (especially if you're a beginner or can help a beginner) and stay late. Live music and callers - all dances are taught - all ages are welcome and partners are not required. Please wear grit free, non-marking shoes to protect the dance floor.

Most contra dances are held upstairs at the Eagles Hall, at 316 East Main Street in Bozeman.

Family Dances:
Several are scheduled throughout the year (see below). Dress up for the theme, dance to recorded music and a live caller, stay for the potluck. Except for the first family dance, these dances (and the evening contra dance) will be held at the Senior Center, rather than the Eagles Hall, which has a great wood dance floor now!Family Dance fun

  • Dancing: 5 to 6:15 PM
  • Potluck: 6:15 to 7 PM. Bring a dish to share.
  • Admission is $15 per family. (Pay for the evening dance seperately if you wish to stay.)
